This was, by far, our biggest initiative. The holiday season of 2001 served as the background for these three projects.
We again distributed school supplies to those families that provided proof of registration for the coming school year, and Christmas toys to children whose parents could not afford them.
For the medical clinic the charity sponsored the supplies that would be necessary for its implementation.
A team of doctors from Calgary donated their services, equipment and medications to treat (for free) anyone from the village and other communities who needed medical assistance.
In this community there isn't a doctor available, and the medical clinic ended up treating almost 1500 people.
Since none of our board of directors could be present at the projects, a written agreement was drafted, and agents were appointed to execute the project in behalf of Los Frutos del Cafe.
